Creating a cross-border top innovation food region.

Who we are

FoodSpot is a collaborative platform for cross-border innovation and cooperation in the food sector of the Netherlands, Flanders and North-Rhine Westphalia.
It was founded in March 2008 by the network organisations Flander’s Food, Food Connection Point, Food Valley and Food-Processing Initiative.

Our objectives

• To address the food manufacturing and service industries' needs to answer questions regarding cross-border innovation, cooperation and communication.
• To support the growth of food industries and research projects and proposals by adding an extant and conciliatory knowledge-network.
• To increase competitiveness of food industries by fostering product development and process innovation.
• To facilitate the transfer of current research and support to both
• theoretical and applied problems.

Instruments & actions

Strengthen regions by innovation and cooperation also means to strengthen each involved company. FoodSpot supports companies by

• Offering networks of industry, research and politics for finding new partners in business and research.
• Connecting matching partners for innovative cooperations to foster cross-border projects.
• Building up an online information system.
• Exchanging experiences with other companies.
• Facilitating the access to new markets, trade opportunities and know-how.
• Stimulating process and product innovation projects.
